Women’s March Oakland 2020
#OaklandCounts
campaign
Oakland counts. Today, tomorrow and in 2020.
Women’s March Oakland 2020 has a single goal: getting all of us counted in 2020. We are mobilizing to raise awareness, volunteer hours and funding to get a complete census count in Alameda County and make our voices heard at the polls. And we can’t do it without you!
The census gives us data about our community, informs the distribution of billions of dollars in federal funding, and determines the number of decision-makers representing us. Based on the census count, Alameda County gets billions of dollars from the federal government for essential services: healthcare, school programs, housing, transportation, social services and more.
For every person not counted, our community loses $10,000 over the next 10 years. In addition, a California undercount could even cost the state a seat in Congress.
We will not let our community suffer and our voices be silenced. That’s why we all need to do our part to help ensure a complete census count and maximize turnout of underserved voters in Alameda County in 2020.
Oakland counts. We count. Together, we can win this fight.
